A Cup of Warm Emotions

(Stolen from a part of what is possibly supposed to be "English state maturita" next year or even later.)

Thousands of research projects are being carried out all the time. Some sum up what we already know, some offer new ideas as well as solutions and some deal with subjects you have never thought would be worth thinking about.

Scientists have come up with new findings about what you think of other people if you are holding a hot drink. People with either hot tea or coffee in their hands feel that other people are much warmer in personality than what people without drinks (or people given a cold drink) say.

Going back to the origin of the metaphor “to be warm” applied to people, we may realize the characteristic of “warmth” in a person is strictly linked to your emotional and physical life.

Also, people who feel lonely often feel cold, too, and that is just another example of the same phenomenon – if you feel well, you tend to think well of others. And feeling warm emotionally makes people much more generous and trusting. To prove this point of the theory, the researchers tested people after they had drunk their drinks on whether they wanted gifts for themselves or for their friends.

Interesting, isn’t it? From now on, I will always carry a cup of tea or coffee with me.
